Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins (born in Mexico) is a Mexican American sportscaster. She works as an ESPN news anchor and hosts SportsNation occasionally. She began working for ESPN in the year 2016. She is the daughter television journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is bilingual since the age of nine years old. It was a helpful talent that enabled her to get her first position working as an assistant to the producer for Univision in Miami that gave her the chance to work with the producers of national programs such as Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. Her first job was as an reporter at CBS St. Petersburg. CBS St. Petersburg affiliate in the following year. In 2009, she relocated into Rio Grande Valley to work as a journalist at KNVO TV 48 Univision & Fox2 News. In 2009 she made the move to Rio Grande Valley, Texas and became a reporter for KNVO 48 Univision as well as Fox2 News. Her duties as an anchor for sports or weather were regularly requested. Deportes 23 was Univision Dallas affiliate where she took on other responsibility. She also wrote articles to the NBA, Dallas Cowboys' postseason, NBA ALDS ALCS World Series or Finals FC Dallas. Also, she produced Univision 23's local sports channel Accion Deportiva Extra, on which she served as anchor. She was promoted as anchor of the sports segment to Despierta America Deportes' morning show. In addition, she served as a sports anchor for Primer Impacto, a magazine program that airs on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins was born and raised in Veracruz, Mexico. At some point they moved to Mexico City where she was born on November 22 1985. There is an older sister. Her family relocated into Miami in 1992 after leaving Mexico. In 1992, the couple divorced soon after. In 1995, she was remarried Fabio Fajardo, a naval engineer who passed away in 2006 due to kidney cancer. In the course of a family holiday in Ohio, the younger Collins had taken a position alongside her elder sister. Still a senior in high school and yet having a clear vision of what she wanted to do for her life, Antonietta was able to visit the University of Mount Union to determine if the school was suitable for her requirements. She discovered that she liked the campus as well as the fact that it had the program she desired. Her high school graduation was in the spring of 2004 and began studying media at the University. Mark Bergmann, her professor who was also the manager of the WRMU's 91.1FM station where she worked for many years, became her friend. Her professor urged her to have self-confidence and was greatly moved by his enthusiasm for journalism.
